SCA traveled to Parkway Christian and defeated them by the score of 50-36. The Stars improve to 5-1 on the season.

The Stars came out strong to start the game. Lizzy Turek knocked down a 3 point shot to give the Stars an early 3 points lead. Maryann Alexander, Lizzy Turek and Claire McClorey combined for the next 8 points and increased the lead to 11-2. The reminder of the quarter consisted of each team trading baskets. Score was 15-7 at the end of the first quarter.

Offensively, the Stars went cold in the second quarter, going 2/13 from the field and 1/6 from beind the arc. Parkway Christian took what would be their only lead of the game at 18-17. However, Lizzy Turek added another basket for the Stars right before halftime, so SCA had a 20-18 lead.

The Stars seemed to regain momentum during the third quarter. After Parkway Christian scored the first basket of the quarter, SCA went on a 10-0 run to take a 10 point advantage at 30-20. However, Parkway Christian kept battling back . Their next 3 possessions led them to a made free throw, a 3 point conversion and a 2 point basket to cut their deficit to 30-26. Claire McClorey and Maryann Alexander scored the next 4 points and the Stars gained a 34-26 lead heading into the final quarter.

The Stars maintained an 8-10 point lead for the majority of the fourth quarter. Parkway Chrisitan scored the first basket but then Claire McClorey and Olivia Skown scored the next 5 points. The Stars finished the game on a 11-6 run.

Maryann Alexander led the team with 16 points. Lizzy Turek scored 12 and Claire McClorey finished with 8 points.

The Stars will take on Cabrini in the Championship game tomorrow at 11:30am.
