The Stars fall to 11-4 on the season by losing to Cabrini 54-49.

Cabrini took an early 9-0 lead before Lizzy Turek hit back to back three point shots to cut the deficit to 9-6. Cabrini answered right back with a 3 point shot and another basket to take a 14-6 lead. SCA finished the quarter on a 9-5 run. Maeve Burke, Hailey Baumann, Lizzy Turek and Rachel Luomala each contributed points. Cabrini led 19-15 at the end of the first quarter.

Cabrini continued to make baskets as they hit a 3 point shot and a field goal to start the second quarter to take a 24-15 lead. The Stars outscored Cabrini 10-7 in the remainder of the second quarter and was down 31-25 at halftime.

The start of the third quarter resulted in each team
exchanging baskets. Both teams scored 5 points and Cabrini led 36-30. Cabrini outscored the Stars 7-3 in the final minutes of the third quarter and led 43-33.

The fourth quarter was played with high energy and intensity. After Cabrini took their largest lead of the game, 46-34, the Stars chipped away and got within 3 points, 50-47 with 2 minutes remaining. SCA made a good run but fell short when the final buzzer sounded.

Lizzy Turek led the team with 18 points. Hailey Baumann scored 14 points.

The Catholic League tournament begins on Saturday, Feb. 15 at Mercy High School.
