The Stars improve to 8-1 on the season with a win over Gabriel Richard, 59-35.
SCA started the game with great intensity and offensively, it resulted in their best first quarter to date. The Stars took an early 9-1 lead. Lizzy Turek made two, three point baskets and Maeve Burke and Claire McClorey each added to the early lead. Gabriel Richard answered back with a 3 point shot to narrow the gap to 9-4. Offensively, the Stars slowed down a little to start the second quarter. Richard went on a 6-1 run to make the score 20-13. However, that would ultimately be as close as the Pioneers would get to the Stars. Claire McClorey, Maeve Burke and Hailey Baumann each scored for SCA and the Stars took a 29-18 lead into halftime.
Lizzy Turek once again converted on a 3 point shot to start the third quarter. This basket set the tone for the second half and the Stars outscored Richard, 17-6 in the third quarter. The ball was shared well and it was evident by the number of girls who scored. Hailey Baumann, Lauren Luomala, Claire McClorey, Darbi Klatt, Rachel Luomala and Carmen Shammani each contributed with points. Stars led 46-24 after the third quarter.
The final quarter was played out in similar fashion. Lizzy Turek made her 4th, three point shot of the game and other notable points came from Morgan Shammami, Lauren Arena and Hailey Baumann.
The Stars were led by Lizzy Turek with 14 points, Claire McClorey with 10 points, Hailey Baumann with 8 points and Maeve Burke added 7.
