The Stars won their 4th consecutive game as the defeated Everest by the score of 51-31. SCA evened their record up to 5-5 on the year.
SCA took control of the game from the start. Lizzy Turek scored the opening basket of the night and the Stars maintained the lead the entire game. A couple of made free throws, one by Maryann Alexander and the other by Haley Gustad put the Stars up 4-0. Everest answered with a 3 point shot to make it a 4-3 game. However, the Stars soared from that point and went on a 10-2 run to take a 14-5 lead at the end of the first quarter. Six players contributed at least one point for the Stars in the opening quarter.
The second quarter is when SCA started to widen the gap. Maryann Alexander and Haley Gustad combined for 13 points in the first 5 minutes of the second quarter. Sofia Iaquinto and Lizzy Turek each added a basket right before halftime. Stars led 31-16 at halftime.
The second half was played out in similar to the first. Although the scoring was almost even in the third quarter, the Stars finished the game out strong and took home the win.
Maryann Alexander led the team with 12 points. Lizzy Turek scored 10 points and Haley Gustad added 9 points.
